Plus 10 and dry when driving in. We had rain overnight.

What a cold Bank Holiday that was!.. Bar a phone call from Geoffrey Williams who informed me yesterday morning that the sun was shining and he was about to put his bathers on!! Oh he lives in Wales..

I am sure many of you have watched Jeremy Clarksons farming series on Amazon prime..He has done a great deal of good for farming.. Anyway if you have then you will realise that farmers are having a terrible time trying to finish off their harvest. David Bass was in this morning.

Norman Carter was here en famille to see his two horses Diamond Gait and Samatian and his KBRS horse Voyburg..

Graham Potts our vet was in this morning. There were no movers and shakers in this weeks BHA handicap charts..

Racing likes good stories and the Newmarket Town Plate, be it a very odd race, often throws up an interesting story. This year was no exception.. A great result for cancer surviving in Rachel Rennie.

Good news from Tesla base camp..My car is ready and my Tesla Chauffeur was here late morning to take me down to my car.. Perfect for an evenings racing at Newton Abbot..Where we have two runners.. in the same race.. Grey Flint and Gerard Mentor and for my thoughts on their chances please click here.

Coming to an abrupt halt, the doctor looked his nude patient up and down carefully and with considerable appreciation.

“Miss Smith,” he said finally, “it seems quite obvious to me that until today you have never undergone an eye examination.”
