31st January 2017

Plus 6, drizzling and foggy when driving in..The last day of January.

Matt Chapman.. Marmite. I love marmite. Matt is good fun and is enjoyable to work with.

How he does that programme On The Line I don't know.. Some of the questions would test the patience.. Anyway forgetting all that he makes the ATR 5.30 to 8pm slot 'On The Line' an enjoyable watch and whether that was what viewers thought last night lord only knows. Not too serious..

Questions were tweeted or emailed in and some were answered; most were interesting although I am not sure why one of my staff Sinead Burke asked about the colour of my socks?

Back to today.

Tom Bellamy was in for a couple of lots.

David and Carol Crompton called in third lot to see their KBRP horse Fifty Bob canter.

Graham Potts our vet was in to test our weeks possible runners and look at a couple of others.

This week movers and shakers in the BHA weekly handicap charts are..Aliandy up 2 to 119 (for not running) Aunty Ann up 2 to 117 (for finishing third) Braw Angus down 2 (for not running) to 98 and Fifty Bob enters at 100..

We have one runner today at Southwell. Sadly I am in London with my accountant Ian Hewitt today so Mat Nicholls is heading there to saddle.

I am always delighted to read about my ex horses who are enjoying a new life after racing. Most of their new owners keep in regular contact as to what they are doing. I was pleased to see that Sirius Chestnut is doing well in his new life.. Thanks Emma Higgin for sending me this link.

Mentioning reading. Finella Tillier suggested I read page 23 of Right Royal by John Masefield which starts with 'In a race course box behind the stand..''. Click on the book and sort through the pages..Appropriate don't you think?

The last day of January and for those who have been dry all month this is what tomorrow brings..

I am passing this on to you because it definitely worked for me today, and we all could  probably use more calm in our lives..

Some doctor on TV this morning said the way to achieve  inner peace is to finish all the things you have started. So I looked around my house to see things I'd started and hadn't finished -

I have managed to finish off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Chardonnay, a bodle of Baileys, a butle of wum, a pockage of Prungles, tha mainder of bot Prozic and Valiuminun scriptins, the res of the chesescke an a box a chocletz. Yu haf no idr how bludy fablus I feel rite now.
