Plus 3 and raining when driving in.
Bloody hell did it rain yesterday.. and it was even worse last night.. It kept me awake..
It poured at Cheltenham racecourse yesterday and with no stands to get under cover from it you really did notice how wet it was.. standing around Charlie White’s horsebox chatting was a bit like a being at a car boot sale in the rain.
Car boot sale it was not as there were 9 pony races and the good news is that Archie Bailey won the main event.. sponsored by Alan King Racing. Yes a Cheltenham winner!
Daisy Chugg, daughter of Weatherby Hamilton insurance expert Richard, and grand daughter of bloodstock breeder Robert won division one of the Kim Bailey Racing Sponsored race.
Paddy Clarkson son of ex BBC’s Grand Prix commentator Tom won a race and so did Elliot England, son of Annabel.. Those two are Archie's best mates so they all went home very happy and very wet.. who cares when you win.
Cheltenham Clerk Of The Course Simon Claisse was on hand to help Annabel and Elliot.. as he put it.. staff....
Talking Cheltenham...Hats off to Cheltenham Racecourse for allowing this annual event to take place on their stunning racecourse... especially in yesterdays conditions..
The thrill of riding at Cheltenham is one thing, but the thrill of rushing into the weighing room and jockeys changing room to bag a bench to change where Ruby Walsh or Richard Johnson do is huge.. Winning Cheltenham Festival jockeys always sign their name over or around their cloths peg..
Yes very wet here this morning.
David Bass was in for at least three lots.
We gave Harry Topper a jump over tyres.. I have never seen our schooling grund that wet.
Kerry Bellamy was in to cook breakfast for this morning guests from CD Tours ..Margaret and Adrian Robinson, Angela Bufton, Harry Gray, Andrew Bonnie and Philip Bingham
Nicholas and Cherry Jones were also here second lot to see their horse Rose To Fame
Quentin and Christine Bevan were here third lot to see their Fubar perform.
We don’t have a runner today but all being well we do at Ffos Las tomorrow. Harry Topper runs there in what could be his swan song.. For my thoughts on his chances please click here.
Any chance of having a runner on Monday at Huntingdon has gone out of the windwow.. the meeting has been abandoned...Waterlogged.. It was good ground yesterday!!
Russell Field sent this one over...
Wife: What are your plans for Easter
Husband: Same as Jesus.
Wife: "What do you mean!?"
Husband: "I will disappear on Friday and I will reappear on Monday!"
Wife: "That's awesome, if you do that I'll do like Mary."
Husband: "What do you mean?"
Wife: "Show up pregnant untouched by my husband."
Husband stayed at home all Easter.
Have a great Easter weekend and see you on Monday.
