Plus 7 and dry when driving in.

Donnie Brasco ran well in his first handicap hurdle at Haydock yesterday. He finished 3rd not beaten that far.

The race was bizarre to watch as the winner appeared from nowhere in the dying strides of the races.

Donnie’s team were pleased, but understandably would have preferred a winner.

This big chasing sort will be a better horse next winter over fences, but what we saw yesterday surely means that he should win a hurdle race.. yes of course.. providing the handicapper does not ruin his chances!

I am lucky I have good staff and that was again proved yesterday when my travelling head girl Leigh Pollard rang me while I was on my way to Taunton to say that she was not happy with Miss GemstoneMG was struggling to pee and was understandably not comfortable.

It is something that could so easily have been missed, but Leigh who has been travelling my horses for some years knows what she is doing, and what she saw yesterday was enough not to run..

She is fine this morning.. Miss Gemstone I mean…

Yes, you are only as good as the staff you employ.

New Years Eve.. For some pary time....

Not yet.. already about there is Australia.. The bush fires there are out of control and the pictures coming through and the stories are awful.

Karen Master was here this morning to see here KBRP horse Does He Know while Richard and Sheila Mordan were here to see their KBRP horse Blazon.

There was only one mover and shaker in ths weeks BHA handicap chart and that was Commodore Barry who went down 2 to 133.

We have three runners today at two meetings....

Mat is heading to Uttoxeter to saddle Aliandy and Rosmuc Relay and I am  heading, after ferrying Archie and his Mum around, to Warwick to saddle What A Baloo. For my thoughts on their chances please click here.

As you probably know fishing is my hobby and I have a time share on the Wye.. Sadly this story does make good reading..

This is the last day of 2019 and I know Mrs B will be hoping that 2020 will be a better year for her. Poor Clare is still in a neck brace and looks like being so for a while yet.

Murphy says to Paddy,  "What ya talkin into an envelope for?

"I'm sending a voicemail ya fool!"

Happy New Year when it arrives!!
