Plus 4 and dry when driving in. Cold wind..

Cheltenham fever is well and truly here.

Jamie Codd has been booked for Newtide..

Well he was last week, but yesterday, at the last minute Gordon Elliott changed his mind and decided to add Ravenhill into the mix for the National Hunt Chase. Jamie always rides for Gordon first..

Ravenhill who was favourite for the Kim Muir has now been rerouted and backed from 25s to 8s...

Not a call from Jamie I needed when driving Archie back to Malvern after his MRI scan in Cheltenham…

Anyway after a few phone calls we now have a new jockey booking..Barry O’Neill rides now..More on Barry

Barry rode Newtide in his Irish point to point when this huge horse was trained by Colin Bowe.. Barry knows the horse well, even if it was 3 years ago..

To celebrate our new booking Clare and I stopped at The Inn at Welland on the way back from Malvern having dropped Archie back at school.. A very good stop over ..

Thursday is our easy day..

We did jump What A Baloo, Owbeg and Drumreagh..

Mat is heading North today to sit on a Cheltenham Preview panel with Ian Robinson.. Ian and his Imperial Racing team own Imperial Aura who runs in the  Northern Trust Company Novices' Handicap Chase on Tuesday.

I am also sitting on a Cheltenham preview panel this evening with Ed Chamberlin.. Well Child benefits from tonight’s entertainment at the Ladies College in Cheltenham.. Fellow panellist is Richard Phillips.. at least he will amuse those who have paid..

Before I meet up with Ed and Richard I will have been to Wincanton where we run Hollymount Holly in the first and Bobhopeornohope in the last..For my thoughts on their chances please click here.

Scare mongering or just the press enjoying bad news.. Cheltenham step up coronavirus measures for next week.. needed before the world comes to an end?

This has been doing the rounds..

Warning: Coronavirus is found to be breeding on Bank notes.

To avoid this disease .. using gloves, put all your contaminated notes on your doorstep. I’ll be making collections for incineration tomorrow.

I’m doing this out of pure friendship.

There is..No need to thank me.
