7th March 2023

0 degrees and dry when driving in. A very slight dusting of snow, more later and tomorrow I fear.

The ground was predictably dryer/drier than forecasted at Wetherby.. no good to soft..

Halligator ran well to finish second on his first run since June. Beaten by the odds on favourite.. A step up in trip will certainly suit now.

Inflagrante.. bar one run at Uttoxeter earlier in the season has shown nothing except being handicapped for it!

Tuesday morning brings in David Bass, Ciaran Gething and Kate Tracey to ride out.. 24 hours earlier than planned, but the weather could ruin plans for Wednesday.

Graham Potts our vet was in for his Tuesday visit and there were no movers or shakers in this weeks BHA handicap charts..

Mat heads up North later to park himself on the panel for the Imperial Racing sponsored Cheltenham preview evening held in Newcastle.

It will be interesting to see if he becomes snowed in?

Clare and I head to Holcot.. We have been invited by Giles Wilson's family to join them at his funeral. A very sad day and a day to reflect and remember a very good friend who was loved by so many..

Giles was one of life’s most generous people, a kind man and a true sportsman.. there will be plenty of stories told..Giles liked to laugh.

Giles was a good cricketer so he would not have enjoyed seeing England fail to beat Bangladesh, but at least they won the 3 match ODI series 2/1..

There is going to be a memorial service and celebration of Giles's life later this summer.. Date to be announced
