Plus 14 and dry.

Staggering prices at the Goffs Landrover sales on day one.

25 horses fetched over 100k.

Yes of course there were plenty of stunning horses to admire, and trying to narrow it down to one potential purchase was always going to be very difficult task, (it was like being in a sweet shop!) but in the end Aiden and I struck early when buying lot 39 an easy going son of Blue Bresil for Phil Andrews. Consigned by the Bleahen Brothers

Top lot was Altior’s brother. And I did not open the bidding!

Aiden and I spent most of Monday looking at the horses on offer over the two days and there will again be strong prices today.

Goffs Landrover is a very friendly sale and from the moment you land at Dublin Airport you are looked after by Irish Thoroughbred Marketing. They pick you up and dropped back after the sale.. In fact ITM look after your every need from booking hotels and to driving me down country.

I went down to near Nenagh in Tipperary on Monday evening to see Espoir de Romay who is currently having a holiday with his part owner Tessa Foreman.

I had hoped to hire a car, but Charles O’Neill was having none of it and insisted that he drove me down.. Talk about being looked after.. Charles in the boss if ITM, so it was regal treatment to say the least… We passed Barack Obama Plaza on the way..Correct I too did not believe there was such a place!

Yesterday the BHA handicapper moved Shinobi down 4 to 98, Blazon down 2 on the flat to 66, The Bull McCabe down 1 to 128 while he put up Shantou Express 2 to 135.

Day 2 of the Goffs Landrover sale starts at 10am..

David Bass and Ciaran Gethings were in this morning.
