14th March 2023

Plus 2 and drizzling when driving in. We had another good bit of rain again yesterday 7mm..

It was really winter soft ground at one the leading summer racecourses yesterday.

Stratford started their new season off and we ran Tregele in the bumper. It was pretty dire stuff but he ran well to finish 4th. A big weak horse who will be a far better horse as he ages, like his mother Emily Gray.

Tommy Cooper, the recently retired Chairman of Market Rasen called in last night on his way back from lunch at Cheltenham. Always good to see Tommy and even better when he brought a decent bottle of Calvados through the door!

Tuesday brings David Bass in to ride out.

This weeks movers and shakers in the BHA handicap charts were…Inflagrante down 4 to 95, Lets Go Amigo down 3 to 95, Voyburg down 5 to 91, Galante De Romay down 5 to 91 while Halligator enters at 107

Lasse Dalgaard and Michael Svensson called in to see Lasse’s KBRS horses Starvoski and Fair Frontieres.

Geoffrey Williams called in to see his KBRS horse Shantou Express.
