Plus 8 and dry when waking in Doncaster

Another huge day at Goffs..It really has been an extraordinary week

I bought one horse late in the day.. Lot 457 Phantom Getaway.. an Irish point to point winner..This horse struck me as being so like my Grand National winner Mr Frisk..

Phantom Getaway walked around the pre sale parade ring just like Mr Frisk.. It was an uncanny resemblance .. I hope he is half as good.. and yes he is for sale..

Subway Surf finished second last night.. annoying and the internet trolls were working overtime with abuse again..Sadly she was beaten by a flat horse who just went too fast for her.. On paper it looked the right race.. she was flat out the whole way.. the good news is that it was her third good run after a very difficult winter for her.

The last day of the Goffs sales today (mostly English horses in training looking for new homes...Sadly we are selling Another Venture to dissolve the Racing For Maggies partnership..

AV has been a great servant to the partnership and has helped raise over 25K for Maggie’s Charity in Cheltenham.

I hope somebody buys him to give him a great life and have some fun with him..AV would make a fabulous hunter chaser/point to pointer and of course is a veteran, so qualified for those really good races.

Cinderella Rose who was a good bumper mare and winning hurdler for Nicholas and Cherry Jones died last night as a result of complications from a bad bout of colic..She produced a stunning foal only last week.. what a tragedy for the Coln Valley Stud and for Glen and Hanni who did all they could to save her..They now have an orphan foal to look after until they can find a suitable foster mare.
