Plus 16 and foggy when driving in. Yes very muggy. We are in for a warm day, and a dry one.

Jockey Tom Bellamy was in to ride out two lots this morning.

Philip and Sandra Arkwright were here second lot to see their horses Texas Forever and Diva Reconce. They also saw their KBRP horses Chateau Robin, Involve, Our Belle Amie and Vinndication and then their Racing For Maggies horses Another Venture and Biscuit.. They look to own half the yard?

Third lot Mark and Melinda Laws were here to see their KBRP Knockanrawley and discuss their own horses Battle Dust and Ben Arthur who are currently in pre training with Philip Rowley in Shropshire.

Also third lot..David and Carol Crompton were here to see their KBRP horse Dusty Pearl.

Peter Kerr who runs my KBRP's would normally be here, but he is rightly on holiday.. we managed... just.

Graham Potts our vet was in for his Tuesday visit and there were no movers or shakers in this weeks BHA handicap charts as we have had no runners.

You have to see the funny side of an incident at Southwell on Sunday when a racegoer tried to smuggle a bottle of vodka into the racecourse. Click here to read the story

Later this morning Kerry and I had an online demonstration on how the new Weatherbys Racing Admin site works..

Currently we have the choice between the old one (easy to use because we know it well) and the new one (nightmare to understand).

Weatherbys and technology don't seem to go hand in hand.. Their banking web site is a horror too..

John Cootes sent over another golfing story..

A grandfather had been playing golf whenever possible for over 78 years. Today had been no exception, he was out early and played his usual 18 holes.

Directly after the golf, he attended his grandson's wedding. During the wedding reception, he was talking to the groom, giving him advice on having a happy marriage and a great life.

After a while the young groom asked "Grandfather, what's it like making love when you reach your age?"

Grandpa promptly replied, "Well...its kinda like putting with a rope."

To finish.. I see that Rupert Wakely is 43 today.. Rupert used to ride for me.. Happy birthday Rupert..
