Plus 3 and dry when driving in.

Watching the farming forecast for the week there does not seem to be much chance of rain in the South of the country.

Champions Day at Ascot certainly lived up to its name on Saturday. Cracking racing. Cracksman and Roaring Lion did the business and John Gosden finished what must have been his best season ever in every sense of the word on a very high note.

Gordon Elliot won the American Grand National with Jury Duty

Hugh Nugent was in to ride out a couple of lots this morning.

Michael and Mary Dulverton were here third lot to see their horses Newtide and Talk Of Fame.

I headed off to Highclere late morning to attend the Highclere Thoroughbred Racing yearling parade and lunch.. The parade was not my reason for going .. more the lunch as they had several members of the team who own Alfie Corbitt there

To finish Happy birthdays to one of my prolific owners Philip Arkwright and old mate Wally Pyrah.

Sad to read of death of Betty Grazebrook.. 109.. some age.. She was here only a few years ago with her son Adrian, looking very spritely.. and when I put here that she was just over a 100 years old she complained that I had got her ago wrong…she was then 103..
