SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER 2017
Dear All
At last September is here and now it is time to start looking forward to the winter months and some proper jump racing.
Nearly all the horses are back here at Thorndale now and we have started ramping up the work load of those who we intend to have ready to run in October. The rest will come along in their own time. I have to say that this is by far the most exciting month of the year as we have not done nearly enough with the horses, to start worrying that they might not be as good as we had hoped. Yes September is a time when all the horses look like winners.which of course they will.!
David Bass our stable jockey is back from his summer spell in France and is now here at least three mornings a week. Time for him to get to know the horses and a time when the jumping lessons are very important. Tom Bellamy is also here twice a week to help - so all systems go.
If you would like a brochure of my horses in training then please email me and I will put a brochure in the post - well Kerry will if not me.
Enjoy the rest of September and see you next month
AUGUST UPDATE
We only had five runners in August but Sonneofpresenting carried on his winning ways when winning by a nose at Worcester having finished third at Perth earlier in the month. What a good summer Sonneofpresenting has had and we hope there is still more to come.
Red Spinner was second at Perth when running well but being beaten fairly and squarely by a well handicapped horse.
Sunblazer ran at Goodwood on one of the wettest days of August. He was completely swamped by 35mls of rain on a not so Glorious Goodwood.
Forgotten Hero ran over hurdles at Worcester and ran well but finds it hard to settle so will now be aimed on the flat over the Autumn.
NEW ARRIVALS
During August we have had some new arrivals to the yard in Rose to Fame who is a daughter of Cinderella Rose, who did well for us a few seasons ago, and by the very fashionable sire Fame and Glory.
Johnny Ocean also arrived and is new recruit for David and Julie Martin. Johnny Ocean won his only start in an Irish point to point last season and we hope is going to be a really exciting horse.
Lastly Kilfilum Cross who is owned by Gary Tardi is another Irish point to pointer who had three runs and won on his last start. He looks a nice prospect for this winter.
I do hope you have enjoyed catching up on our news; don't forget we would love to have you involved in the yard if you are not already; we are just a phone call away.
All the best
